About this site

Cryptowatch is a real-time charting and trading-monitor platform built specifically for crypto markets, operated under Kraken following acquisition. Unlike TradingView's "multi-market chart plus community" stance, Cryptowatch is a crypto-only, order-book-first, low-latency cockpit for active monitoring.

The product breaks into four areas. Cross-venue aggregation: spot and derivatives feeds from dozens of major exchanges, with the same instrument viewable across venues simultaneously. Order book and trade tape: real-time depth charts, live trade prints, and a public WebSocket feed. Charting and technical analysis: multi-interval bars, standard indicators, and drawing tools. Trader-facing utilities: watchlists, price alerts, and multi-window layouts.

Use cases gravitate toward active monitoring. Short-term and higher-frequency users need order-book depth in addition to bars. Cross-venue arbitrage users overlay the same coin across exchanges. Traders want a low-latency, configurable desktop-class web app. Developers connect to the public WebSocket for real-time market data.

The differentiator is order-book focus and latency. TradingView leads on indicators and scripting but is comparatively light on order books; Cryptowatch flips that, putting depth and trade flow at the center for traders who watch depth rather than draw lines. Its scope is crypto-only, so it does not cover equities, FX, or futures.

Limitations and caveats: advanced features such as multi-account connectivity, extended windows, and longer history playback typically sit behind paid subscription tiers; product scope and regional availability are tied to Kraken's strategy and cross-jurisdiction users should check local accessibility; order-book data is supplied by individual exchanges and brief gaps or stale prints can occur in extreme moves; nothing on the site — indicators, layouts, or signals — constitutes investment advice. Crypto-asset trading carries material risk.
