Image to text (OCR)

Image and file utilities: QR/barcode, compression, on-device image-to-text OCR (nothing uploaded), and local PDF merge/split/extract.

What is OCR?

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) reads text in images and turns it into copyable plain text. Recognition runs entirely in your browser—images are never uploaded. Simple images use the built-in detector first; complex screenshots (wide web pages, long images, etc.) automatically switch to on-device Tesseract (language data downloads on first use; slower). Spacing and common icon misreads are cleaned up, but dense layouts, small text, and icon areas may still be wrong or incomplete—compare with the original image.

Upload an image to extract text. Up to 10 runs per hour.
